iDRHICA has instrumented two (critical zone) ecohydrological observatories equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which makes possible the development of interdisciplinary projects of the highest level. These advanced environmental monitoring systems provide the necessary data for researching hydrometeorological processes, energy, water and carbon flows, water and soil quality, hydrogeochemistry, aquatic ecology and others.
These observatories are natural laboratories that can take part in major international initiatives such as the FRIEND program (UNESCO’s Program on Floods), HELP (Hydrology for the Environment, Life and Policy), and MAB (UNESCO’s Man And Biosphere); to name a few.
